Meet the Owner

My name is Linda Veldman. I am so excited to be the new owner of Cool Beans Therapy Clubhouse! I have 25 years of experience in the field of occupational therapy, 20 of those years in pediatrics. I was born and raised in the North West Province of South Africa, and I graduated from the University of Pretoria. My husband and I moved to the United States in 1997. We lived in Glasgow, Kentucky for 10 years where I worked in a smaller community hospital. I gained experience in outpatient, inpatient, home health, and schools. I started a support group for parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). I completed many continuing education courses on ASD and Sensory Processing. I also completed the certification in the evaluation and treatment of Sensory Integration.

After 10 years, we moved to Roanoke, Virginia. I worked in an outpatient facility where I continued my specialization in pediatrics. While in the Roanoke area, I also had the opportunity to work with a functional neurologist. I gained a unique perspective on neurodevelopmental disorders like Autism, developmental delays, and ADHD, but also genetic disorders like Down syndrome. I learned about the profound relationship between the vestibular, ocular motor, and neurological systems and the magic of neuroplasticity.

My husband is an engineer, and I have 3 little girls who have all of a sudden grown up into beautiful young women. We also have 3 dogs whom we love very much: two Pembroke Welsh Corgis and a German Shepherd/Border Collie Mix. In my free time, I enjoy gardening, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. I’m thrilled to be joining the Cool Beans Therapy community. I look forward to getting to meet you and partner with you and your family wherever you are in your journey!

Hi, everyone! My name is Madison Gribbins (Madi) and I am very excited to be in the new occupational therapy assistant position at Cool Beans Therapy. My hometown is Concord, NC and I absolutely love the community here! A fun fact about me is that I love to bake sourdough bread and sweet treats during my free time. I cannot wait to begin meeting all of the sweet clients I get to work with and help meet their full potential through the wonderful profession of occupational therapy. I am so excited to be apart of this team!

Cheyenne Barbagallo

Cheyenne Barbagallo

Hi, my name is Cheyenne Barbagallo and I am one of the Occupational Therapy Assistants here at Cool Beans! I am originally from Martinsville, VA, I moved to North Carolina just over two years ago and have since been fortunate to continue my career as a Pediatric Occupational Therapy Assistant. With a little over three years of experience, my journey in occupational therapy has allowed me to work across a variety of settings, including adult outpatient rehab, home health, and early intervention. However, it’s working with children that truly fuels my passion. I find great joy in making a positive impact on their lives, whether it’s helping them develop new skills or supporting them through challenges; I feel privileged to be part of their developmental journey. Outside of work you can find me spending time with my two dogs, Daisy and Goose, traveling with my husband, and/or reading a new book!

I am excited to continue supporting children on their journey to independence and growth!
